Role: Teaching Assistant Location: Liskeard, Cornwall Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3pm Day Rate: £85 Start Date: ASAP! About the role: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at an Alternative Provision in Liskeard, Cornwall. As a Pupil-Referral-Unit Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting and mentoring students with special educational needs (SEN) in their academic and personal development. Previous school progress may have been limited by problems with behaviour, learning difficulties, reading and writing or a particular condition. You will work closely with the teaching staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to thrive. The school offers a wide range of sporting and outdoor pursuits for the students, including coasteering, kayaking, mountain biking, surfing and orienteering. Requirements: - Experience working with children or adults with SEMH - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - A genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable students. - Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
