Academics are recruiting for WELSH SPEAKERS who are passionate about working with children to support their academic and personal growth within a classroom environment. The role of a Teaching Assistant:

Classroom Support

* Assist the teacher in the preparation of materials and resources
* Supporting individual students or small groups with classwork
* Creating and fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment
* Ensure the class is tidy, and well organised throughout different points of the day.

Behavioural Support

* Implementing behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and productive classroom atmosphere
* Supporting students in their development of social skills and behaviour

Individual Student Support

* Providing additional 1:1 assistance to pupils who may require extra support
* Offering encouragement and guidance to students with Additional Needs.
* Work with students with additional needs and contribute to the development and implementation of individualised education plans.

Communication

* The ability to communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and pupils regarding day-to-day classroom activities and the progress of pupils.

Candidate Requirements to become a Teaching Assistant:

* Hold an enhanced DBS check (or be willing to apply for one)
* Registered with the EWC (We can assist with this as well as the DBS)
* Fluent in both Welsh and English
* Ability to commute easily to Caerphilly schools
