Job Description
This role will encompass a range of responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Technical support to internal CSL product teams in the development, sales and support of IoT propositions and Customer
solutions. - Pre-sales support and services to CSL sales functions, providing high quality technical interfaces to internal/external customers and suppliers.
- Investigating technical incidents and providing remedies where necessary, taking proactive ownership of technical supplier equipment/service problems.
- Co-ordinating 3rd party suppliers in the resolution of more complex IoT issues including Mobile Operators, hardware manufacturers, platform providers etc.
- Design/build of secure customer router configurations, utilising internal platforms to provision, test and activate.
- Deployment and management of customer/product trials and pilots.
- Generation of technical documentation (manuals, product specifications, requirements definitions, guides, plans etc) where required.
- Maintaining strong technical relationships with key Customer/Suppliers/Partners, keeping abreast of their latest developments and trends.
- Evaluating new products/propositions, assessing their technical suitability and viability.
- Working with operations and service delivery on product developments/enhancement and ensuring their readiness for business take on and in-life support.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of infrastructure/applications, processes, technologies, markets, billing platforms and developments.
- To be experienced and fully competent in own areas and to share this expertise with others, providing guidance and support.
- Provide out of hours support for escalated issues as part of an on-call rota.
- Travel if required for Customer presentations/installations/events etc.
The Successful Applicant
Key Skills & Qualifications Sought:
- Must have good in-depth knowledge and experience of IP networking, including design, delivery and support
- Thorough understanding of IoT environment and the associated technologies including 4G/3G/GPRS, IP, VPNs, APNs, RADIUS, SIMs, Broadband, SMS, Network Management etc.
- Able to interpret customer needs, assess and document the requirements, and identify solutions to standard and nonstandard opportunities.
- Must possess strong communication skills, a strong work ethic, high energy and enthusiasm.
- Capability to innovate and 'think out of the box' to deliver products and solutions which meet customer requirements.
- Able to deliver to tight times scales and to quickly identify innovative, pragmatic and cost-effective solutions to product/customer issues.
- Able to explain difficult concepts to a variety of audiences and to ensure that the meaning is understood.
