Your future duties and responsibilities
You will be working within our Shared Service DBA team, which means you'll be trusted to support a variety of high-profile clients as and when required. You will be fully supported by our Senior DBA's and Architects, allowing you to upskill and develop your career within CGI.
Our DBA's work on Database Transition/Projects and work to Project Manager timescales and Database standards to ensure new service is successfully transitioned into BAU services.
You will work to CGI DBA Build/Install standards or Customer Standards as agreed by DBA Manager, and ensure all DBA documentation produced is to required ISO standards.
Working as DBA with us, you will perform Change Management duties within Change KPI targets, concentrating mainly on major changes as well as provide DBA Incident Management/Problem Management support and resolve incidents.
You will answer tickets/calls within agreed Service Levels and KPI’s including P1’s and Problem Tickets and perform DBA duties to required standards to ensure incident response times are met and that calls are allocated to DBA’s within required timescales.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
You'll ideally need experience of:
• Service Delivery
• Database Administration, Maintenance & Capacity Planning
• Database Performance Diagnosis & Tuning
Desirable experience includes:
• MySQL/InnoDB Clusters and/or other RDBMS HA/DR technologies
• Documentation & Management reporting
We are looking for someone who wants to develop, learn and build their career at CGI. You will have some DBA experience, ideally in a commercial role, including Database Maintenance & Administration, Database Backup technology, HA/DR technologies, and Multi-platform experience – MS Windows, Linux, Unix and VMware.
