Job description

Our client, a leading legal 500 law firm in Newcastle, are looking to recruit a strategic minded compliance professional into a Head of Risk and Compliance role. The role would suit compliance professionals who can demonstrate significant compliance and risk experience as Head of Risk and Compliance, Compliance Manager or senior Compliance Officer within a legal or professional services environment.

Responsibilities:

• Performing risk assessments and defining a risk and compliance framework.
• Ensuring proper systems for reporting data breaches.
• Improving and implementing compliance systems.
• Managing AML procedures and ensuring compliance with AML policies.
• Investigating breaches and writing detailed reports.
• Being the point of contact for data protection enquiries.
• Dealing with client complaints.
• Delivering risk and compliance training across the business.
• Auditing.
• Keeping abreast of changes in the law and appropriate regulations.

Requirements:

• A seasoned compliance professional with experience gained ideally at compliance manager or Head of Compliance level within a law firm or professional services environment.
• AML experience.
