Position : SEMH Teaching Assistant
Employment Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm
Working Hours : 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Term Time Only)
Daily Rate : £79

Pink Tile Education is currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for our esteemed client, a progressive special school working with young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This institution is deeply committed to providing an exceptional educational experience for its diverse student population, which comprises both boys and girls aged primary and secondary.

 

Role Overview:

 

As an SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in the educational journey of our students. At this school, they pride themselves on delivering personalised, engaging and holistic education within a purposeful and balanced curriculum. The student community spans Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4, and your role will involve providing essential support to help these young individuals re-engage with the core curriculum and other enriching activities. Flexibility is paramount. The school is committed to offering permanent positions to outstanding staff members following a 12-week probationary period.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality education.
Provide assistance and guidance to the students, understanding and adapting to their individual needs.
Effectively manage student behaviour, creating a positive learning environment.
Inspire and engage learners, making learning a fulfilling experience.

 

Requirements:

 

Possession of an Enhanced DBS on the update service, or a willingness to obtain one (assistance can be provided before your start date).
Adaptability in catering to the unique needs of each student.

A natural love of working and getting the best out of young people, a friendly but resilient outlook where you can give struggling young people the best chance of succeeding with your patience and assistance. Able to be proactive and reactive, and to be part of a team eager to help and support each other.

 

Desired:


Experience in working with children and young people in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) environment (voluntary, Youth Work, clubs, schools, life experience such as families).

An educational background or deep interest in childcare, health and social care and/or psychology (BA Hons, A Level, online courses)

Experience with challenging clients/behaviour management

GCSEs in English and Maths (KS3-5 assistants)
