About The Role

Morrison Water Services are currently looking to recruit a Senior Civils Estimator to work on our new & existing frameworks within the Northern Business Unit.
As a Senior Civils Estimator you will be part of the up-front team, reporting through to the regional Managing Estimator, responsible for delivering accurate and timely estimates across a mix of clean & wastewater projects involving capital delivery works, frameworks and competitive tenders.
As a Senior Estimator your duties and responsibilities will include:
- To provide estimating support with bids and contracts to ensure robust pricing, risk management and governance
- To assist and advise the Senior Management Team on commercial influences and risks around any bids
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to produce accurate and timely estimates/cost data
- To ensure where possible supplier/subcontractor terms are back to back with the client requirements and if not to impact assess any deviations
- Responsible for prioritising workload and supporting the team to produce results in a timely manner to meet business needs
- Day to day liaison with, and influencing of, key stakeholders, such as customers and operational colleagues
- To develop and implement changes to process, following understanding of a need to make changes to improve performance
- Travelling to sites to ascertain scope of works as & when required
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
- Experience within the water industry is essential, preferably within both water and wastewater, infra and non-infra environments, but also advantageous to have other utility estimating experience
- Preferably degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Cost & Planning or similar
- Effective communication and negotiating skills
- Excellent people management skills
- Commercial and contractual knowledge and understanding of various forms of NEC Contracts (Options A to E)
- Able to follow process and governance
- Able to present and use planning and visual software applications
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages such as excel, word, powerpoint etc
- Knowledge of estimating software packages such as Conquest is the main one, Causeway, Candy etc
