Job Title: Principal Clinical Psychologist

Job type: Permanent 25 hours (Flexible arrangements can be discussed)

Pay scale/salary: Band 8B

Location: Stockport, Head Office with Hybrid working available.

£58972.00 - £68525.00 dependent on experience

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Clinical Psychologist to join our organisation. The successful candidate will work alongside other clinical leads, working closely with our Yorkshire based Principal Clinical Psychologist, and with the broader multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will be responsible for providing leadership, psychological resource allocations, managing and clinically supervising other clinical psychologists, psychotherapists and assistant psychologists and ensuring appropriate skills mix within the specialty. The post holder will be involved at a senior level in service development projects, and clinical innovation, alongside screening and assessments for the wider service.

The post holder may hold a small caseload, but predominantly would be providing consultation, teaching and clinical leadership within our multidisciplinary setting.

You will join our welcoming and supportive team of Clinical Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists. You will work as part of a comprehensive and highly skilled multi-disciplinary team providing direct clinical input and assessment for young people with complex mental health difficulties, including eating disorder, emerging personality disorder and complex trauma.

As a PrincipalSpecialist Clinical Psychologist,you will have(As a minimum):
• Doctoral level training in clinical, counselling, health or forensic Psychology, including two or more distinct psychological therapies.
• Current registration with HCPC
• Minimum of twelve months post qualification experience or appropriate experience in training to join us at a preceptorship level.
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including at least six months clinical experience working in child and adolescent mental health.
• Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups
• Knowledge of whole life span development and the impact on emotional, psychological and mental well-being.
• Knowledge of the theory and practice of at least one evidence based psychological therapy relevant to the treatment of adolescents with complex problems and their families.
• A commitment to supporting young people with complex presentations, risks and needs to develop resilience and move towards independence.
• Be able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.

Desirable Criteria:
• Additional specialist knowledge or training in psychological therapies including models i.e., CAT, CBT, ST
• Experience working in an inpatient mental health setting.
• Experience in working with clients with eating disorders.
• Experience of service quality monitoring e.g. clinical audit, evaluative research, etc.
• Experience of teaching, training and/or offering supervision
• Experience of working in a community based mental health setting
