Currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Reservoir Engineer on a contract basis for an E&P company based in central Aberdeen. It is a 6-month contract position, and the company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role.
The Lead Reservoir Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Supporting company level forecasting processes.
- Tracking corporate reserves.
- Supporting the annual CPR process, including QC of shared subsurface characterisations.
- Communicating details of forecasts, reserves and project maturation plans to Senior Management.
- Supporting opportunity hopper products and activities.
- Supporting corporate activities as required.
- Mentoring, developing and leading more junior subsurface staff.
- Responsible for presentation and review of consolidated forecasts, with QC of same.
- Understanding / learning the principles of PRMS and helping apply these for company assessments.
- Supporting prioritisation of opportunities for valuation and other portfolio management activity.
Experience / Qualifications:
- A degree qualification in Reservoir / Petroleum Engineering, or a similar discipline, is essential.
- Previous experience in a similar Lead Reservoir Engineer type role, directly within the North Sea oil and gas industry, is essential.
- Applicants should have a broad understanding of the core aspects of reservoir engineering, such as field development, simulation, material balance, pressure transient analysis, fluid properties, decline curve analysis and reserve evaluations.
- Applicants should have experience with production forecasting for business planning and reserves purposes.
- Data analysis experience would be preferred.
