Job Title: Unit Teacher

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire

Salary: MPS/UPS

Weeks per year: 39 weeks

Teaching Personnel are working with one of our Ofsted rated Good schools in the Corby area of Northamptonshire who are currently recruiting a teacher in their Unit Provision; a specialist provision for students with SEND. The Unit Provision at this school currently caters for 77 students. The students have a wide range of needs including SLD, MLD and complex learning difficulties; with additional needs such as ASD and SLCN. The school have an exciting opportunity to expand to cater for 100 students, increasing their intake in September 2024 and January 2025 when they will be at their new full capacity. The Unit is undergoing building work in Term 6 and the summer to add two new classrooms and a sensory/therapy room. They are looking to recruit a skilled and motivated individual to join their team in May 2024 who will support and help us prepare towards our expansion plans.

The Unit Provision expansion will see them move from 7 to 9 teaching groups. The students are currently taught in Key Stages by a team of specialist staff. The curriculum provides students with breadth of both academic and life skills-based learning. Dependent on student levels they offer a range of different pathways and accreditation. Their students access a range of opportunities dependent on their individual pathway including sporting activities, work experience and off-site visits into the local community. These compliment the academic curriculum and develop functional skills, preparing students for adulthood and lifelong learning.

Teaching a core subject will be required. Driving the mini bus for offsite visits is desirable but not essential. MIDAS training can be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
