So…. What is this role exactly?
This is an exciting opportunity for a Head of Cyber Security, Architecture & Assurance to join Your Housing Group, and lead the Groups Cyber Security function, supporting the delivery of the transformational CIO Roadmap and the ongoing design, development, and implementation of our security capability, continuing to reduce risk and improve YHGs resilience to all the Groups information assets.
As our Head of Cyber Security, Architecture & Assurance, you will lead, motivate, and develop YHGs well established, collaborative ICT Security, Architecture and Assurance team to provide excellent services across the Group. Embracing best practice, and continuous improvement, through the development of innovative technology, to provide robust solutions, security and assurance of ICT systems, data and processes.
It’s an exciting time to get involved with our ICT team and the Head of Cyber Security, Architecture and Assurance will be integral to the delivery of YHGs wide-ranging Technology programmes, including our Data Strategy and Digital Transformation Programme as part of our CIO Roadmap,
What will I be responsible for doing?
First and foremost , in partnership with the Chief Information Officer, you will lead the design and delivery of the ICT Cyber Security Strategy, road map and major security incident response plan capability, that will continue to evolve and protect the Groups ICT resources, significant data streams and business critical services from malicious external and internal cyber threats, including ownership of the ICT Assurance Plan, and all Risk Management and Audit programmes, consistent with the Groups Risk Management Strategy.
You will also lead on the development and delivery of the Cyber Security Architecture Strategy, ensuring the use of best practice and consideration of emerging technologies.
One of the great things about this role is that you will absolutely have the opportunity to influence and implement real change around YHG's Cyber Security strategy and policy, as you will be recognised within the business as the SME within Cyber Security and independent friend to Senior Leaders in how we protect our critical systems, information, customers and colleagues from potential cyber-attacks.
Leading from the front you, you will champion cyber awareness throughout the Group, communicating the benefits of good cyber security to both technical and non-technical colleagues and will provide assurances of our Cyber Security systems and controls to the Board, Executive Leadership Team, and external Stakeholders. The Head of Cyber Security, Architecture and Assurance also reports to YHGs Audit and Risk management committee and will be required to present to the Board when required.

To be a successful as our Head of Cyber Security, Architecture and Assurance, you will be a forward-thinking leader, always with one eye on the horizon to emerging technologies, tools, and threats. Experienced not only at leading a multi-discipline team to deliver on critical projects, but also in building robust relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and partners. Although not essential, being attuned to the challenges facing the housing sector currently would really be of interest.
Ideally you will be a confident relationship builder, keen to work visibly and provide both vision and focus within the team, along with a passion to enable the delivery of a best-in-class security and assurance controls.
