Summary:

The Company undertakes a variety of specialist contracting activities in the UK and abroad including:

• Concrete and asphalt repairs and specialist concrete surface protection systems

All our activities require the use of specialist bespoke plant and equipment.

The prime focus of this role is the co-ordination of the warehouse and yard facilities.

This is a part-time role, though additional hours can be worked and overtime on Saturdays may be required.

Rate of pay: £9.50-£10.00 per hour

• The Job holder will be responsible for safe house-keeping of the yard including maintenance of the COSHH/used paint area, ensuring the yard is kept free of obstructions and all waste/rubbish is disposed of in correct skips and manner.To assist with ensuring Workshop COSHH items are locked away at the end of every day and COSHH products are stored safely.
• Responsible for loading/unloading racking and that pallets are stacked in a safe manner and are compliant with the racking in use in the workshop.
• To undertake daily yard and forklift checks and to ensure all corrective actions are noted, assigned, followed up and completed. Ensuring all yard inspections are fully completed and filed appropriately once actions complete.
• To assist with and undertake van and vehicle inspections when vans/vehicles in the yard completing Company paperwork accurately.
• To receive deliveries, ensuring all deliveries are signed for and unloaded in a safe manner, ensuring delivery notes are given to the Operations team/file appropriately.
• To assist with the stock maintenance and stock control of all Company materials and to be involved in monthly stock take.
• To assist with packing of overseas containers for works projects that are being shipped or air freighted.
• Where possible, to assist with basic plant and vehicle maintenance and repairs under direction of the Assistant Workshop Manager/Plant & Fleet Manager.Assist with the collection of orders, parts and delivering of vehicles to external garages/servicing facilities as required.
• To assist the Fleet & Plant Manager and other members of Roadgrip management with other tasks within your capabilities as required.
• Willing to work overtime and Saturday mornings if required.
• To be proactive in proposing improved systems or ways of working as appropriate.
• To comply with all Company H&S procedures and policies including the wearing of the appropriate PPE in the yard and enforcing standards with Company personnel.

Qualifications/Experience

• Ideally should have experience in similar working environment.
• FLT trained & competent would be beneficial.
• Abrasive wheels trained would be beneficial.

Skills & Experience

• Full driving licence preferred.
• Confident communicator.
• Energised and motivated.
• Ability to work on your own as well as part of team.
• To take pride in your work standards and what you do.
• Confident in raising any safety concerns.
• Good attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work proactively using own initiative.
