We are looking to recruit for our Essex based Builders Merchant Client a motivated and responsible Lorry Loader HGV driver holding a valid ALLMI HIAB certificate. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
SHIFT TIMES
Monday to Friday, typically 8 hour shifts but overtime is paid
A Saturday shift every other week
This is a Temporary job from end March to end July 2024 – thereafter shifts will be Saturdays only and other days as required and notified
Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate the Lorry equipped with a remote HIAB crane.
- A driver will be required from end of March to end of July to cover peak work
- Load and unload materials using the HIAB following the safety regulations.
- Transport goods on a timely manner
- Secure and unload cargo using the HIAB crane in a safe and efficient manner.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, maintaining a strong commitment to safety.
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
- Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate records.
Job Requirements
- Valid HIAB certificate from ALLMI category C1+C5+E is mandatory.
- Previous experience as a lorry driver
- Full and clean driving license.
- No more than 6 penalty points
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading and unloading cargo.
- Dark pants
- High viz jacket
- Steel toe capped boots
- PPE must be worn on assignment
- All shifts- bring in driving licence and wear PPE
Benefits
- Weekday pay is £16.84 per hour and £25.27 per hour for Saturday work including holiday pay
