R&D Mechanical Engineer
Newark, Full Time, Permanent

We are proud to be partnered with a long-standing Newark based client who are seeking a R&D Mechanical Engineer. As a R&D Mechanical Engineer you will work within a close-knit team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers with an aim to develop and implement new products and technologies.

THE ROLE

As an R&D Mechanical Engineer your role will involve:

• Design and conception ideas for new products
• Conducting research and analyse data to drive continues improvement
• Telephone support for clients and engineers on site
• Produce and amend 2D & 3D drawings
• Producing calculations for client approval on designs
• Carry out FEA on existing and new designs
• Attending site to diagnose any issues and assisting with technical problems
• Being available on the shop floor and to assistant with problems if needed

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal R&D Mechanical Engineer will possess:

HNC – HND or higher required

• Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 2D
• Proven experience in a similar role
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects
• Time served Engineering experience
• Fabrication and welding skills
• A strong communicator
