Job description
What you will do in your working day
The role will involve:
- Visiting sites to check and assist with reports and preparation of tender packs including design, spec, scope, and will work closely with the design team to determine scope, products, costs and budgets.
- Attending meetings, taking minutes and supervision of building work.
- Working with consultants, statutory bodies and local authorities.
- Assisting with the undertaking of report writing and presentation.
- Ensuring work is completed to a standard which complies with current regulations, technical manuals, and health and safety.
- Frequent liaison with peers and management on technical matters.
- Use AutoCAD or similar software.
Coomber Associates will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to progress and take real responsibility for their work with oversight and advice from Chartered Surveyors along the way.
You will be involved in all aspects of our consultancy work providing you with a breadth of experience and knowledge.
The training you will be getting Upon completion you will receive a BSc Hons Degree in Building Surveying
This degree is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), so what you learn on the course applies to the industry.
When you graduate, you'll have the academic and work-based experience that you need to register for the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). Upon passing the APC, you will be a Chartered Surveyor.
This apprenticeship requires attendance one day per week on Campus at the University of Portsmouth
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship As a smaller employer, there will be ample opportunity for progress and gain independence in your work to lead smaller projects and liaise with clients and contractors as your experience grows.
