• Direct UK teaching experiences preferred
• Minimum 5 years AL/IGCSE (and EPQ) teaching experience in the relevant area
• Ability to teach high achieving students
• Degree in area of expertise for teaching
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, MEd or equivalent)
• Leadership experience (minimum 2 years)
• To be part of the academic leadership team. To liaise with the other Heads of faculty and other subject leaders to ensure suitable support within your subject areas.
• To maintain a professional and effective faculty working environment, including the support and development of subject leaders to maintain the highest quality of teaching and learning
• To manage faculty staff, including assisting with recruitment, task allocation and goal setting. To provide objective and fair appraisal of all faculty members.
• To support with the development, analysis and review of the faculty. To coordinate production of faculty reports and action plans as well as their implementation.
• To develop assessment strategies and the collection of suitable data for the faculty; liaise with the exams officer to ensure all external assessment criteria are met.
• To create a program of professional development for the faculty, to develop innovations that improve and extend student learning and coordinate the development of the faculty, in line with the wider college goals.
• To ensure suitable publicity and promotion of the faculty both internally and externally.
• To coordinate Gifted and Talented activities within the faculty in coordination with the other heads of faculty.
• To take the lead and manage a whole college responsibility based on skills and experience
• Any other allocated tasks consistent with the principal purpose of the position.
These responsibilities will be carried out in accordance with the guiding statements of the College and with due consideration of Child Safeguarding.
UK curriculum high school (Cambridge International AS/AL & IGCSE) teaching through the medium of English to mainly Chinese students preparing for overseas universities.

· Highly selective – English and Mathematics admissions tests
· Medium of instruction & communication – AS/AL English, with students functioning at first language level, mostly studying AS/AL English language or literature in A1/A2
