Field Service Support Engineer

Job description
At Electron-X we design, manufacture, and install radiation enclosures and provide X-ray equipment for industrial applications. The enclosures range from small, shielded cabinets for laboratory use, up to very large lead-lined or concrete rooms to accommodate space satellites. Each enclosure might house an x-ray source, x-ray detector, and a safety circuit. Many have additional hardware such as manipulators and powered doors.
We are looking for an Engineer to be part of our Service Support team to maintain these systems.
The role will involve:
- Regular site visits within the UK to service customer x-ray equipment and facilities.
- Diagnosis and repair of faults and breakdowns.
- (issues might be mechanical, electrical, control or instrumentation).
- Keeping records of site visits and breakdown and repair information.
- Maintenance of our in-house x-ray machines and equipment.
- Ordering and maintaining spare parts.
What we are looking for:
- Degree or HNC in Engineering or experience working with hi-tech electro-mechanical systems.
- A willingness to travel within the UK. Longer trips may include overnight hotel stays.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Ability to learn fast and take on new skills and responsibilities.
- A wide knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Full clean driving license
