We are looking for 2 people to join our Engineering Team, on a 4-year training programme, one to train in Mechanical competencies and one Electrical
Purpose of the role
Carry out a 4-year apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance attending college when necessary, whilst working alongside HM Maintenance Engineering Team
Monitoring and maintaining the running of the plant, equipment, and systems in line with a preventative maintenance schedule, ensuring that equipment is reliable and will perform consistently in specified operating environments.
Reacting to breakdowns of plant and equipment, ensuring that the plant is repaired safely and to the required standard
Implementing modifications in the manufacturing process (this can include manufacturing and fitting new parts or modifying existing parts where necessary.
Key accountabilities
Work in a safe manner following all Health and Safety regulations
Follow all IMS procedures relating to his/her own work activities
Liaising with Managers/Team Leaders and other department staff when required
Work as part of the Engineering Team to ensure that work is carried out as efficiently as possible
Attend training courses as and when required, i.e., renewal of licenses and updating of knowledge

To ensure that all the business/operations are performed in accordance with instructions and procedures and in such a way to prevent any fraudulent activities taking place
To comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and to observe the requirements of the Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation
To update all areas of knowledge, skills and behaviours as required to carry out the job with maximum effectiveness and to attend training/development courses as and when required
You will be required to complete a study and apprenticeship programme. You will be required to commit to a learning programme with a local college and training provider designated by Hanson and allocated off the job training time during your working week to assist in your studies.
Complete and maintain all required apprenticeship documentation and adhere to all apprenticeship requirements and commitments
To comply with all aspects of the HR Policies and Procedures of the Company
All successful applicants will need to attend an interview with the HM designated training provider and initial assessment to ensure suitability for the programme

Preferred 5 GCSE's Grade B or Grade 6 and above including Maths, English and a Science Subject
Must have sat L2 Maths & English as a minimum
Genuine interest in engineering backed up with (some) practical experience
