Exciting Senior DevOps engineer role available You will contribute to our clients Continuous Automation Solutions Strategy. You will focus on stability, availability and quality you will be accountable/responsible for the code and services your teams produce and administer. This could be a perfect job for a seasonal contractor that is looking for the right career opportunity that will give you stability and a variety of exciting innovate DevOps project work. You may also provide support and technical leadership to a small team of DevOps Engineers along with providing oversight to the products and services they develop.
Suited candidate will need to be eligible for SC Clearance, current SC Clearance would be desirable.
Responsibilities might include:
- Responsible for contributing to providing advice and guidance to others in the organisation.
- Responsible for large blocks of work, employees in varied disciplines and with a wide span of leadership, breaking down user stories into tasks.
- Lead a DevOps Engineering team providing support, technical leadership and guidance, creating a DevOps culture and implementing automation best practices. This will include coaching, mentoring and supporting your team, taking responsibility for their decision-making and their professional development.
- Enterprise Jenkins to create reusable pipepline
- AWS Cloud Solutions and Services – EC2, Lambda, EKS, API, Autoscaling
- Infrastructure as a code (IaC) – Ansible and Terraform
- Communicate regularly with a wide range of organisations and contacts internally and or externally, contributing to set strategic direction for DevOps teams and the wider Engineering community
- Lead the sharing of knowledge, documentation, and good practice with the wider Engineering community
- Work closely with senior officers, providing advice and suggesting courses of action, provide coaching, mentoring and support to Software and DevOps Engineer colleagues and peers
- Interdepartmental discussions and meetings with a wide variety of external bodies and organisations on a local, regional, national, or international basis, leading community discussions about DevOps best practice within Engineering.
