The Role
Here at SecureCloud+ we are seeking an experienced and driven Test Lead to join our growing team based out of our Stoke site.
The Test Lead will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the services we offer through effective test planning, execution, and coordination.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing methodologies, test automation, and leadership skills to guide the testing team towards achieving project goals and objectives.
Role Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop comprehensive test plans, strategies, and test cases based on project requirements and specifications, ensuring adequate coverage of functional and non-functional requirements.
- Lead and coordinate the execution of test cases, including functional testing, performance testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT), to validate the quality and stability of services.
- Identify opportunities for test automation and develop automated test scripts using appropriate tools and frameworks, streamlining the testing process and improving efficiency.
- Manage the end-to-end defect lifecycle, including defect identification, logging, prioritisation, tracking, and resolution, collaborating with development teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the testing team, including test engineers and analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Implement and enforce quality assurance processes and best practices throughout the service contract, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate testing progress, results, and any potential risks or issues to project stakeholders, including project managers, development teams, and business stakeholders, through regular status reports and meetings.
- Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of testing efforts.
Education and Experience Requirements
As the Test Lead you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field would be beneficial.
- Relevant certifications in system and/or software testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) would be beneficial.
- Proven experience with a minimum of 3 years in operation testing, with a focus on component and systems testing.
- Significant experience in security compliance in Defence environment.
- Strong understanding of testing principles, methodologies, and best practices, including test planning, execution, automation, and defect management.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar tools.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages commonly used in test automation, such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a testing team, foster collaboration, and resolve conflicts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail and a proactive mindset towards identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to diverse audiences and stakeholders.
UK Security Check (SC) clearance is required for this position. Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain SC clearance, with a view to obtaining DV clearance as required.
