Reporting to Software Development Manager
Background
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing Engineering team and build out the next generation of our platform. The ideal candidate is a hands-on platform builder with significant experience in developing scalable data platforms. They must be at ease working in an agile environment. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement.

About the role
To design, build out and maintain effective and reliable code that supports the next generation growth of our platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable and reliable code
- Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, third parties, and cross-functional teams to build effective relationships and to ensure timely and efficient project delivery
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
- Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices
- Write and maintain automated tests
Key Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline
- 2+ years of software engineering experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in an agile development environment
- Experience with automated testing frameworks
- Able to work well in a highly collaborative team
- Capable of producing organised, well-written documentation
- Desire to produce high quality, well-structure, testable, simple and maintainable solutions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Technologically adept and able to demonstrate proficiency in the following technologies:
- C# .Net Core development (2+ years of experience)
- .NET Web API
- RESTful APIs
- SQL & Database knowledge
- Object-Oriented Programming, Design Patterns and SOLID principles
- Git repositories
- And ideally familiar with:
- CI/CD (preferably Bitbucket Pipelines)
- Jira
- Agile
- Cloud (AWS/Azure)
- Microservices
- Docker
- Front-end: NET Blazor, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- PHP
- MVC
- Test-driven development (TDD)
- Clean Architecture
