Job description

This role has an hourly rate of £14.86 and is subject to an additional enhancement in lieu of annual leave/sickness. You will be required to work flexibly as part of the team, with one day a week guaranteed.

We are seeking an Activity Worker to work at the Hope Service. You will work with young people with complex mental health, behavioural and social care needs. You will in both Epsom and Guildford sites. Therefore, use of a car is essential.

About the Team

This innovative and exciting multi-disciplinary service is provided by Health, Social Care and Education professionals to young people aged 11-18 with mental health, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties living in Surrey. We are a Centre of Clinical Excellence and recently awarded 'outstanding' by Ofsted.

About the Role

The Activity Worker role is an integral part of planning and delivering therapeutic support and education to young people receiving a service from HOPE, either through the Day Programme or Outreach. You will be actively involved in groups and individual programmes for young people and participate in the delivery of multi-agency programmes.

The focus of the role is to help young people develop problem solving, coping, learning and social interaction skills, promoting educational attainment, and to work directly with young people and their families or carers to promote and safeguard their welfare within an integrated service. You will work closely with other members of the team and tailor activities and interventions to help meet young peoples agreed therapeutic and educational goals.

The duties cover both elements of the Service, i.e. the Day Programme and Community Work. You will work fully in the multi-disciplinary team and with care co-ordinators in the development, implementation and evaluation of person-centred plans, including educational and therapeutic needs. You will contribute to the effective functioning of the team and work in partnership with colleagues from all agencies.
