Job description
First Call Contract Services are currently recruiting for Sea freight Goods Checkers position in Ashford, Middlesex (TW15).
Shifts: Monday to Fri 07:00-15:30 (45min unpaid break)
Pay: 11.30 per hour
Contract: Full-time, on-going
Job responsibilities:
Breaking down pallets of stock completely then check the following- Barcodes, Quantity, pack sizes, origins, and expiry dates. Insure 100% check has been taken and this is your full responsibility. If unsure on anything ask for someone else to double check and counter sign paperwork.
Assist with packing pallets for sea freight. Up to heights of 240cm per pallet (ladder to assist).
Wrapping & weighing pallets using pallet wrap machine/Scale.
General House Keeping and following health and safety rules. This includes discarding of carboard and plastic straps around boxes.
Forklift users to drive in a safe way the same as you were trained. No speeding as this will result in a disciplinary
Working in a small team and sometimes alone.
Product types Frozen, Ambient, and chilled. (Not spending much time in frozen unit. Normally just in and out with pallet truck)
Other duties:
Cleaning, wiping down surfaces like workstations this does not have to be in your work area this can be in any department.
Making pallet boxes/lids
Helping other departments like on production benches, areas of breaking down pallets or wrapping up pallets. You need to find something to do and insure it benefiting the team.
Assisting other departments when required like downtime, covering sickness and holidays.
