I am working with a company supporting the profit-for-purpose industry in Birchwood to recruit a Senior Buyer in one of their most profitable category teams! The company has grown from strength to strength over the years and has multiple awards under their belt, making them a great employer of choice.
The role Responsible for a team of 3 Buyers, the Senior Buyer will be a supportive mentor and leader and will provide coaching to other members of the team. Working for the company's most prestigious category area with the highest level of spend, you will support the category manager with the overall category strategy, as well as leading on high value end-to-end tenders in excess of £5m.
The Senior Buyer will be responsible for building and maintaining commercial relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, implementing & managing contracts, and analysing financial and statistical data.
To be considered for this role, you will need the following: - Previous experience of operating at Senior Buyer level - please note that this role would not suit someone wanting to take a 'step up' into a senior position
- Ideally, you will have procurement experience within the construction/building materials category
- Line management / people leadership experience
- Proactive and strategic in your approach
- Contract management experience
- Full lifecycle / end-to-end procurement experience
