Job description

As a  Commissioning Engineer  you will be part of our substation build team working on UKPN's 11kV, 33kV & 132kV Distribution Network. Your role will be to Test and Commission High Voltage Plant and apparatus onto the live distribution network integrating with existing protection schemes

Our client is a key partner on the UKPN ED1SON Alliance Contract, delivering substation build and refurbishment works across the East of England including design, project management, on site cable installation, building construction, jointing, switchgear installation, bunding, commissioning, decommissioning and demolition.

As the Commissioning Engineer your responsibilities will include:

• Provide technical support for the project teams
• Where required attend Client progress meetings, pre-start meetings and client audits.
• Encourage and integrate innovation and cost-effective working methods across the contracts
• Identify and resolve design issues raised on site and conform to Distribution Network Operator standards
• Provide technical support for projects at a concept stage to ensure robust, cost effective build solutions.
• Test and Commission High Voltage plant and apparatus on the 11kV, 33kV and 132kV networks
• Testing and Commissioning of Alarm and Control installations
