Head of Electrical/Electronics

Key Responsibilities:
- Report into the Managing Director, this role will lead all aspects of responsible technical discipline(s) to deliver company’s targets.
- To support the MD the creation and review of the engineering roadmap.
- Provision of engineering resources and expertise the end to end customer programme delivery.
- Responsible for the engineering P&L, business plan, budgets and costing.
- Lead business development activities within his/her responsible technical discipline(s) and support on other business development activities of the company.
- Under his/her supervision the technical team –UK or Global- will provide technical detailed quotations, which will identify and manage the potential risk of the projects, and create the initial project framework.
- Manage and develop the technical team’s capabilities and performance to meet and exceed the current and future goals challenges set by the business, including coaching, retention and succession planning.
- Maximize the technical and project delivery capabilities of the team to make sure every member of the team is a technical expert in his/her field with excellent project delivery skills.
- Collaborate closely with other technical teams globally to develop integrated automotive engineering solutions and offer EDAG global capabilities in UK.
Requirements
- Educated to Degree level in Mechatronics, Electrical or Automotive Engineering.
- Experience in multiple technical areas (Electrical/Electronics, Vehicle Integration, software etc.).
- Proven experience in building and leading successful, cross functional, engineering teams.
- Experience in handling RFQs and delivering high quality quotations.
- Background in engineering consultancy business desired.
- Sound commercial and financial awareness with a strategic mindset.
- Driven and have a passion for delivering challenging projects.
- Excellent communications skill, have the ability to lead and motivate teams and work cross functionally.
- A natural mentor and coach who values personal relationships across the whole business.
- Well organized and delivery focused – with demonstrable track record of on-time delivery in a high pressure environment.
