Job Description
What will you be doing?
As a Chassis Component Engineer , you will join Gaydon team to support our activities within the A utomovie sector.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Collaborate with the Lead Engineer and CAD designers to contribute to the design and release of front or rear suspension components, including Control arms links and ball joints, suspension knuckles, hub & bearing assemblies.
- Work closely with the engineering team to deliver concept system layouts and mature component packages.
- Assist in the development of performance targets and primary concepts for suspension systems, spanning early prototype build phases through to production.
- Engage with external suppliers to design and develop systems and components that meet specified requirements and targets, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with Vehicle Line Managers to facilitate the swift and accurate deployment of components and systems across all vehicle model lines.
- Partner with Vehicle Attribute teams to ensure the delivery of tunable components that meet performance targets and freeze dates.
- Provide support for Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), quality history reviews, robustness studies, Design Verification Plan (DVP), and Final Engineering Sign Off reporting.

Qualifications
Experience, skills and qualifications
required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Has understanding of design and development of suspension components.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Familiarity with DFMEA, CAE, and DVP processes.
