Job description

Business Teacher with the possibility of Second in Department

Suitable for ECTs or more experienced staff

The Role

Can you bring industry and business to life within the classroom? We have strong and established links with local industry and international companies to enthuse our students about the global business environment. Come and be part of it!

We are seeking to appoint an excellent Business Teacher to join our Business Studies and IT department. Committed to raising attainment, you will have the ability to motivate our students to succeed to the highest levels. You will bring new ideas, new concepts and new experiences for our students. You will have autonomy in your teaching and be provided with an outstanding CPD package for personal development. You will be an aspiring middle leader and an outstanding practitioner.

Business Studies courses for KS4 and 5 are offered within the Business and IT department. There is an experienced Head of Department who leads a team of committed and established specialists. The school offers a broad range of Business courses and has a particularly strong and popular Sixth Form Business Studies programme. The number of Sixth Form students taking the subject has grown year on year. Our recently opened Sixth Form centre offers state-of-the-art facilities. It is used extensively by students studying Business Studies and IT in Key Stage 5. We have an established Young Enterprise Club, as well as the Business and Computing lunchtime club.

In addition, there is the possibility of a TLR for the right candidate who wishes to develop into middle management.  If you wish to take accountability for elements of the curriculum and teaching and learning within the Business department, there is the possibility of Second in Department.

Situated in the leafy Chilterns and within easy reach of Central London, Highcrest is culturally and academically diverse and is the only academy in Buckinghamshire that caters for students of ‘all abilities’. Some of our students need all your support, whilst others need to be challenged and stretched. Our inclusive and successful House system, a wide range of clubs, visits and trips helps to bring our whole school community together.

There are approximately 1,000 students on roll, including the Sixth Form. Recent additions to our site include a gym and restaurant/coffee shop for both staff and students, as well as a purpose-built Sixth Form Centre.
