Job description

The role
This is an exciting role to support the successful delivery of capital projects making a positive difference for residents across the city. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic person to take a key role in our Project Management Office. The successful candidate will be organised and methodical, with the ability to make effective decisions to help us to provide excellent service and support the delivery development projects across the city.

This role is focussed on ensuring the processes and governance are deployed effectively to enable Project Teams and Project Managers to successfully take projects from conception to delivery. As well as supporting project managers to be successful, the purpose of the role is to support the implementation of a co-ordinated approach to support the delivery and reporting of major programmes of work across the Council, including those being delivered by our trading companies. As an example, this role will work closely with colleagues in housing and property services to support the programmes that are seeking to make improvements to the councils housing stock.

This role will work as part of a small team to ensure that the PMO operates successfully, through effective administration, maintenance of information, management of programme and project plans and reporting and escalation of risks and issues.
