Job Role
We’re seeking a diligent Operations Manager to join our team at Rock and Rapid Adventures, based at our hub located in North Devon.
This role is an excellent chance to secure a pivotal leadership position within our bustling, adventure-filled outdoor company. We’re devoted to providing top-tier experiences, including adventures, skills courses, and trips, while staying committed to environmental consciousness.
The role requires a blend of managerial and instructional responsibilities. Furthermore, it involves recruiting, training, fostering new staff, and designing exciting residential programs.
Necessary Skills
The ideal candidate should be a well-certified outdoor instructor with proven experience in staff management, outdoor activity delivery, and possess outstanding administrative, communication, and computer skills.
Practical Competencies
• Mountain Training – CWDI/RCI.
• British Canoeing – Paddle Sports Leader or higher.
• Current first aid certification (16hr Outdoor specific).
• Advanced logbooks showcasing experience and qualifications.
• DBS certification.
• Managerial or Senior Instructor experience.
• Stellar interpersonal skills.
Administrative Competencies
• Exceptional management skills, especially dealing with staff and workloads.
• Superior office administration, planning and organisation abilities.
• Attention to detail.
• Proficiency in computers (preferably Mac).
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to help the Director with strategic business planning.
Additional Responsibilities
• Manage budgets and account processes.
• Staff and instructor coordination and scheduling.
• Marketing of products, courses, events.
• Interviewing and hiring additional staff.
• Staff training, reviews, appraisals.
