Job Title: Senior Researcher / Associate Director
Location: Wemyss Place, Edinburgh

Reports to: Research Director
Our Research Team aims to provide the very best market intelligence to our clients in both the private and public sector at a time when perceptive, detailed, and reliable analysis has never been more important. The Team's considerable experience and specific skill sets ensure that our clients get an unrivalled insight into the drivers of the Scottish market across the residential spectrum. The Team also works for the business internally, producing collateral for our wider client base and promoting the Rettie brand. The Team provides data and analysis to assess business performance across offices and divisions as well as informing business decision-making.
Purpose of the role
As the Senior Researcher, you will be responsible for undertaking a range of analytical work for external clients, such as market appraisals of development sites, as well as internal work to help guide the strategy of the firm and assess its performance.
A more experienced Researcher may be considered for an Associate Director role, particularly where they can demonstrate evidence and ability of work winning and business development.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in conducting external work, including market assessments, appraisals and forecasts
- Engaging directly with clients in winning work, agreeing scope of works; and presenting findings and conclusions of work undertaken
- Update and maintain key research databases
- Help to produce key marketing materials, including bulletins/market briefings for internal/external clients
- Comply with CPR and BPR legislation
- Educated to degree level in a numerate subject such as Economics, Accountancy or Finance
- Have excellent IT skills, including working knowledge or Microsoft Office
- Numerate and literate with high levels of accuracy
- Be able to produce well-written and credible marketing materials/reports
- Be eligible to work in the UK
- Postgraduate qualification in a subject or a professional qualification (or working towards this qualification) such as RICS
- Knowledge of the real estate sector, particularly the residential sector in Scotland
