Job description

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher to lead our thriving Technology department. Applications are welcome from experienced teachers able to teach Resistant Materials Technology throughout the ability range at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 optional). Technology is one of our most popular subjects, with the department benefitting from a range of state-of-the-art classrooms that help to deliver excellent lessons to our pupils.

All students study Technology at Key stage 3, and this is a very popular GCSE subject for our Key Stage 4 pupils with Hospitality and Catering, Graphics and Resistant Materials all running in Year 10 and 11. We are hoping to run a Technology A-Level in the very near future. A high uptake alongside extra-curricular opportunities and a fully differentiated curriculum makes the department an exciting place to work.

We believe our best resource are our teachers. There is a popular and thriving programme of professional development in the department and across the school, at all levels, and colleagues have the opportunity to develop personally and professionally through our membership of both the PiXL club and the Harrow Collegiate Alliance (HCA). The school also offers excellent promotion prospects and a comprehensive induction programme. This post would be appropriate for an ECT or a more experienced teacher – we will also consider applications from candidates who would request a part-time role.
