Family Solicitor

Myerson

Job description

We have a new opportunity for a Family Solicitor (NQ-5PQE) to join our leading specialist team in Altrincham.

Our firm

Myerson is a Top 200 UK Law Firm as recognised by The Lawyer. We are also proud to be ranked ‘Top Tier’ by The Legal 500, commended by The Times ‘Best Law Firms 2019 and 2023’ and named ‘Health & Wellbeing Champions’ at the Manchester Legal Awards 2023.

We are one of the largest independent law firms in the North West, a bold claim we are proud to make because it’s been hard won. No instant growth through acquisition or merger. Instead, growth earned from our day-to-day endeavours, an entrepreneurial approach to doing business and a rock-solid reputation.

We recruit staff who are motivated by our core values and have an affinity to our collegiate and independent ethos.

The team

Our highly respected Family department at Myerson has gone from strength to strength in recent years and, due to an increase in workflows, is looking to add another member to the team. The team specialises in complex and high value divorce and family disputes and is renowned for its client-focussed and comprehensive legal advice. The team also works closely with a number of other departments within Myerson, ensuring they are well placed to provide comprehensive legal advice to assist clients on all commercial issues, taxation and trusts.

The role

The role will involve providing the highest quality advice across a range of privately funded family law matters and disputes including divorce and financial remedy issues, children and injunction matters, including surrogacy and fertility issues, cohabitee disputes and pre and post nuptial agreements.

The successful candidate will be someone with a good academic background and training in privately funded family work, who is looking to further develop their career and maintain a good quality of work in a team-orientated, collaborative and supportive environment. Candidates are required to have excellent all round family law experience.

The successful candidate will come from a national, or leading regional firm and be used to working on privately paying family law matters. Ideally the successful candidaye will have had some exposure to a high net worth client base. We are looking for someone upto 5 years’ PQE so this role would suit someone who is working at an existing solicitor or Associate level. Candidates must be able to respond to client's urgent requirements whilst maintaining and supporting the maintenance of a proper work/life balance. Candidates should have an ability and willingness to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and other departments of the firm.

As an award-winning law firm, we are passionate about finding eager, knowledgeable individuals and supporting them to become leaders in their field. We are strong advocates of a successful work/life balance, finding forward-thinking individuals with enthusiasm for their role.
