Salary: Grade J. SCP 40 - £48,474 to SCP 43 - £51,515 with a professional bar at SCP 41 £49,498**
Hours: 36 Hours per Week

Our recently appointed Assistant Director of Strategic Property and the Director of Place have undertaken a review of the directorate’s services and are restructuring to align all council property related functions and property management.
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Strategic Property, your role will be to manage and deliver a programme to review the Council’s property portfolio to identify and deliver revenue and capital savings to the Council. The review will be undertaken in accordance with the Councils Strategic Asset Management Plan and will identify properties for disposal, development and improvement.
This will involve extensive liaison with internal service departments, external partners/agencies public, private and voluntary sector organisations and elected Members. To ensure that the Council maximises service outcomes in relation financial management.
You will establish and actively manage a property review of the Council’s property portfolio in order to meet the Council’s expectations in respect of service, quality, timeliness, communication and value for money. Provide expert asset management advice to internal and external clients demonstrating market knowledge and specialist areas of expertise.
You will manage and undertake property reviews of the Council’s operational and non-operational property, in conjunction with officers across Strategic Property and external bodies to identify property that is ineffective, inefficient and underutilised and then advise and manage programmes of work to improve the portfolio, to deliver optimum results for Tameside.
You will be a Chartered Surveyor, or have a relevant professional qualification, with leadership experience in a local authority setting, you will be able to work at pace with enthusiasm and drive and be able to engage with and influence a range of partners at all levels.
