Job description
Due to exciting new business, we are pleased to be recruiting extra new, permanent Team Leaders to work in our Retail Packing Department.

This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday 3.30pm to 1.00am with a salary of £30,000 per annum.

Working as part of a team, the Team Leader will perform an integral role within the CPM Department assuming responsibility for the delivery of the production plan through effective management of people, product and process and will do so in line with company, customer and legislative requirements.
Requirements
Responsibilities Include:
- Ensuring that all production line team members are working safely, efficiently, upholding food safety and that product quality is always maintained.
- Ensuring that all actions agreed to eliminate or mitigate any risk is always strictly managed and adhered to, managing safety and taking accountability for the safety of their respective team members.
- Ensuring Operational Compliance from a Performance, Food Safety, Quality and Health & Safety Perspective.
- Promote a culture of Operational excellence through supporting company policies and lean initiatives playing an active role in its formation and implementation.
- Constructively challenge standards relating to operational performance, food safety, quality and health and safety.
- Escalate problems in a timely manner through the appropriate channels as required offering solutions where appropriate.
- To uphold and promote the values of the company including Teamwork, Responsibility, Ambition and Passion for Food both internally and external to the organisation.
- Communicate downtime issues directly to the Engineering Manager /Supervisor in the first instance ensuring Production Shift Managers and Supervisors are kept informed of the situation.
- Ensure effective lines of communications are in place between your areas of responsibility with the Team Leaders and or Production Shift Managers, WIP Management and Planning.
- Assist the Production Shift Manager with customer, 3rd party and supplier visits within the Production Halls both on a planned and ad hoc basis.
- The accurate monitoring, recording, communicating and delivery of all key production metrics in area of ownership. These include:
- Plan attainment – 100%
- Batch control – 100%
- Yield – (Giveaway & Waste) in line with company targets
- Direct Labour costs in areas of ownership in line with company targets
- Product Quality
- SIC Boards
- Daily Huddle meetings pre shift and post shift where appropriate.
- Daily participation in PULSE 1 shop floor meeting
- Accurate and timely Stock Control
- Staff training, development & performance
- GMP – Audit ready at all time
- Line set up ensure line ready to start at shift start times
- Health and Safety
- Investigate and correct deviations from key production metrics.
- Challenge and support all CI (continuous improvement) initiatives within your own area of responsibility and the wider functions where appropriate and requested.
- Provide honest /constructive input into annual PDR’s of operatives.
- Report daily staff holidays and absence to the supervisor / Production shift manager.
- CCP’s: Ensure any issues regarding CCP’s are highlighted immediately to the QA team and Supervisor.
- Ensure all checks are completed at the required time intervals and to the required standard.
- Ensure all documentation is logged correctly.
- Ensure all product/batch is cleared from the end of line prior to the start of the next product/batch.
- Escalation of any product quality issues to Supervisor and Shift Manager, with solutions.
- Monitoring of staff performance and escalation of any poor/ under performance.
- Positive motivation of direct reports.
- Ensure line team are wearing PPE correctly and in line with training.
- Ensure the company return to work procedure is followed at all times.
- Promote and participate constructively in all new agreed “ways or working” – daily PULSE meetings, SIC and where appropriate the PMR process and all KEPAK policy & procedures.
- Manage the daily production function of the line/team particularly planned and unplanned changes and non-standard work.
- Escalate any issues to the Supervisor to ensure restraints to production/ team work are dealt with in a timely fashion.
- Ensure that Full Traceability is achieved for every batch of product through accurate recording of paperwork.
- Escalation of issues at the SIC hourly check with the Supervisor or Shift Manager or other forums that require support in order to address.
- Support the Supervisor in the implementation and improvement of procedures and processes to ensure required standards of work are met and adhered to.
- Provide recommendations to training function for all line operators.
- Daily personnel management including
- Proactively engage the Supervisor with ideas for personal development.
