Job description
Procurement Heads is exclusively representing a Procurement Category Manager opportunity on behalf of a leading infrastructure services provider.
The Procurement Category Manager will have ownership of a range of sub-categories within Infrastructure & Site Maintenance and develop and deliver sourcing events.
You will also drive commercial benefit, service delivery improvement and process efficiency.
This role would suit someone from a construction background with exposure to telecoms or substations.
As Procurement Category Manager your key responsibilities will be: - Lead the business in agreeing and delivering clear and compelling sub-category strategies
- Lead sourcing activities and the management of complex projects and facilitate cross-functional group planning and action
- Plan and execute negotiations for both formal tenders and ad-hoc activities
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal & external key stakeholders
- Adhere to required Savings Methodology and where appropriate incorporate Total Cost of Ownership
- Negotiate both new and renewal commercial contractual agreements with suppliers within Category to ensure the service, quality, added value, total cost of ownership, security of supply and supplier’s deployment plans are secured, and risks and issues are mitigated
- Manage and run procurement-related processes from inception through to ‘handover’ to internal contract management, ensuring associated activities have been carried out diligently and rigorously
Qualifications and experience:
- Hands-on category management, negotiating and presentational skills
- MCIPS membership and Accreditation are preferred but not essential.
- Experience delivering change and improvement across partnerships and organisational boundaries.
- Experience developing and managing. stakeholder relationships.
