Job description
This role is for one of the biggest infrastructure and water services consultancies, they are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical, Electrical, ICA & Process (Water) Team Manager – South East to join their growing team on a permanent basis to support the delivery of numerous projects all across the UK and internationally. The role is located in Surrey
As a key member of their Leadership Team, you will be taking the lead on water projects, providing the appropriate technical guidance and professional challenge to further develop your team, as well as making a real contribution to the success of their Infrastructure business through their water market and beyond.
Some of the main responsibilities for this role include:
- Provide leadership to a talented diverse team at Programme Manager or Project Director level on their various projects and frameworks and continuing to drive the wider practice’s reputation for technical excellence and innovation.
- Motivate, develop, mentor and retain your team members.
- Strategic recruitment into the MEICAP SE Team.
- Team resource planning and deployment, ensuring the right people with the right skills and the right experience are deployed onto their projects at the right time.
- Provide the focus for business communications and pastoral support to the MEICAP SE Team and proactively support career and talent development.
- Work as part of winning work team in the region and nationally, via direct client relationships and via opportunities across Markets.
- Maximising additional/repeat/follow-on work from clients, identifying and providing technical expertise to support business development, and drive innovation in service offerings.
- Co-operate and strengthen their national delivery with the other regional MEICAP teams, including their MEICAP team.
- Driving Net Zero and Digital initiatives into their projects.
- Working with the Digital task force, to create an awareness of technical and digital innovation in the South East, proactively supporting the Design Transformation programme.
Requirements
- Educated to degree level in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Process, EICA); Chartered Member of a recognised engineering institution.
- Experience in the design delivery across UK and international project lifecycles: feasibility studies, front-end to detailed design (including Design and Build), and construction support.
- Strong track record of the water market and ability to build on current client relationships and an ambition to establish new client contacts.
- Track record of winning work with strong experience of bidding, in technical and commercial aspects.
- A role model who enjoys growing, leading and motivating teams.
- A natural flair for creating a high-potential team environment encouraging new ideas and initiatives that benefit both clients and the business.
- An ability to build credibility and relationships quickly at senior level in the industry and within the business; communicating effectively at all levels.
- Proven project management capability and business acumen; assuming overall project team and financial accountability for projects, including direct liaison with external and internal clients.
- Highly motivated, organised and with a strong desire to promote technical excellence and quality delivery (right first time) within project teams and wider team/practice.
- Proven track record of innovation in the water sector – digital advances, circularity, low carbon, new materials, prefabrication etc.
