Energy Manager
Salary £38,560 – £43,374 plus exceptional pension and annual leave
The University of Huddersfield is seeking to recruit an Energy Manager to join its Estates Team.
The Estates and Facilities Services are instrumental in ensuring facilities offered by the University of Huddersfield to students, staff and visitors are first class, and that Huddersfield maintains its strong financial position within the top ten of mainstream universities and has an academic estate that is rated within the top 10% in the UK.
The Energy Manager will lead the strategy for managing utilities and carbon emissions to ensure the Estates and Facilities team meet their strict energy, water, and carbon targets. They will be accurately monitor, validate, and reduce utilities cost across the University estate, and will be a key stakeholder in the delivery of the University’s Carbon Management Plan (CMP) with a goal of Net Zero by 2030 (scope 1 and 2). This will include liaising with colleagues throughout the University to impact these plans, driving culture change and identifying inefficient practices, and providing solutions.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in an influential energy management role across a large-scale, complex estate portfolio.
You will have significant experience and knowledge of the UK energy and utility sector including procurement and billing operations, with practical experience and technical knowledge of energy and utility management services.
To be a success in the role you will need to be highly motivated and results-focused with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The role calls for an individual who can gain the confidence of and successfully influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
