Job description
A Sales Engineer / External Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager is required to join a leading, global manufacturer of sensors and automation products covering the Southeast of England.
The successful Sales Engineer / External Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager will be responsible for account management and business development across various industries providing technical support widely within industrial automation.
Sales Engineer / External Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager Would ideally have experience, knowledge or interest in industrial automation products such as sensors, PLCs, variable speed drive, switchgear process instrumentation or similar engineering applications, full product training is provided.
Package
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
OTE: £10,000 - £12,000

A shorter working day on Friday.
A Technical Sales Engineer joining a global manufacturer with an engineering degree would be greatly considered for this role.
Sales Engineer / External Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager role
- Managing a number of key accounts via distribution channels and OEM customers in various industries
- Covering the South meeting customers on-site in Reading, Basingstoke, Slough, Southampton, Portsmouth, Crawley, Worthing, Eastbourne, Maidstone & the surrounding areas
- Maintaining new sales with demonstration, exhibition, and negotiation to achieve targets.
- Liaise with various engineering departments.
- Handling customer enquiries and preparing quotations for customers.
- Providing technical advice to and consulting complex applications.
- Grow and develop an existing patch and devise sales strategies.
- Work with other members of the Sales, Marketing and Technical teams, to identify issues, propose solutions and take part in projects to contribute to operational and sales efficiency.
Sales Engineer / External Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager Requirements
- Experience as a Key Account Manager, Account Manager, Area Sales Manager, Sales Engineer, Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Engineer or similar ideally within automation, engineering, process instrumentation, sensors or electronics.
- An interest in industrial automation products such as sensors, PLCs, variable speed drive, switchgear process instrumentation or similar engineering applications.
- Technical knowledge of the automation sector is beneficial.
- An engineering degree in mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, chemical engineering or similar would be beneficial.
- Full clean driving license.
- Covering the Southeast, ideally based in Reading, Basingstoke, Slough, Southampton, Portsmouth, Crawley, Worthing, Eastbourne, Maidstone & the surrounding areas.
