Job description

Are you an experienced support worker in need of a new challenge? Do you have experience supporting vulnerable people with Special Educational Needs?

An ‘Outstanding’ special school in North Leeds is seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Worker to join their growing team of support staff. The school caters for children and young people aged 2 to 19 years with Autism, Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs.

As a Behaviour Support Worker, your roles and responsibilities will be:

* To provide 1:1 support to the pupils in need of extra guidance and support the small class of children you are working with.
* To work alongside other support staff and assist with behaviour management when required.
* To help the class teacher to run exciting lessons and stimulating activities to aid the pupils’ sensory skills and learning and development.
* To support the children in accordance to their care plan and ensure their needs and requirements are met.
* To assist the pupils in your care with their daily routine including providing support with personal care when required.

To be a Behaviour Support Worker at this school, it is required that you have experience supporting children or adults with autism and learning disabilities in the care or education sector to demonstrate your knowledge of how to support vulnerable young people.
