The Vacancy
We are looking to recruit hard-working and enthusiastic Archaeologists to join our Stansted field team. MOLA has a policy of mentoring and training staff at all levels in order to develop individual capabilities and enhance career prospects, with opportunities for internal advancement and promotion, as well as developing specialist skills.
We have several exciting projects of all sizes, covering different types of archaeology, ongoing or due to start imminently. This role primarily involves excavating and recording archaeology of various periods on a range of site- and project-types, in line with MOLA procedures. Training may be provided to use a GPS to record archaeological features, and there may be opportunities to contribute to post-excavation processes as well.
The role will be contracted to the MOLA Stansted office, with work taking place on projects in Essex, Suffolk and further afield. Transport from the Stansted office to sites is provided with MOLA vehicles, and subsistence and accommodation costs are provided for away work in line with MOLA policy.
We have start dates available throughout January and Februaryoffers will be made to suitable candidates before the closing date, so early applications are advised! Contracts are initially for up to six months with the possibility for extension.
