Support Worker at Fairview and Craigdene which is a residential care home for 26 adults (20’s to 70’s) with learning disabilities. This is a banking position. Hours will be discussed and agreed with the successful applicant but are likely to be in the range of 16 to 20 hours per week on average..

Responsibilities

• Assisting in meeting the personal needs of adult residents with learning disabilities, including washing, showering, bathing, dressing and undressing, toileting and feeding.
• Participating in the day-to-day activities of the home, including housekeeping duties, cooking, dishwashing, laundry etc.
• Ensuring residents are treated with the utmost respect at all times and helping promote resident participation in the life of the homes. Assisting colleagues to maintain a welcoming, safe and caring environment.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• A positive and friendly disposition. Good communication skills. Good team worker. Reliable and punctual. Applicants must be flexible regarding hours of work and be willing to work days, evenings, nights and weekends when required.

Desirable Skills

• Evidence of working in a caring environment is desirable but not essential.
