Practice Manager - Derbyshire

Purovets has an opportunity for a practice manager to join a dedicated and friendly team at a practice situated in a quaint neighbourhood nestled in the heart of Derby. This is a brand-new role, you will be responsible for supporting the non-clinical day-to-day running of a practice as well as managing and leading a team of veterinary surgeons, nurses, and support staff.
At present, the dynamic team comprises of a skilled vet, supported by two experienced nurses, a dedicated student nurse, two proficient animal nursing assistants, three diligent patient care assistants, and two client care assistants-forming a cohesive and comprehensive unit dedicated to excellence in pet care.
The role involves overseeing financial and operational performance, team engagement, and maintaining high clinical standards in alignment with the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme. Responsibilities include reviewing and managing staff rosters, ensuring proper staffing levels and upholding Health and Safety protocols. Additionally, the position entails managing new staff inductions, overseeing recruitment processes, conducting line manager duties, and implementing necessary changes based on team or client feedback.
The ideal candidate will possess a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to fostering the development of colleagues and the overall practice. You will be proactive, approachable, and excel in confident communication, building strong relationships across all levels with both colleagues and clients. A nursing or veterinary background is beneficial but not mandatory, and experience in a management/leadership role is advantageous.

The Role:
•Permanent, full-time role
•40 hours per week over five days
•No weekends
•No OOH
•Some flexibility on shift patterns etc if required
