Job description
Participate in the technical support necessary for the safe and effective dispensing of prescriptions including inpatient, outpatient and discharge medications and the distribution of medicines to the designated units of SHSC under the supervision of a senior technician and pharmacist. Undertake the SHSC system of ward top up safely and effectively to designated units. Provide safe and effective supply of pharmaceuticals to units within SHSC and other designated units outside the Trust. If eligible, and subject to appropriate training, to undertake accuracy checking of prescriptions. Subject to the provision of appropriate training, participate in the provision of phlebotomy services to SHSC, including training in using and operating the POCHI machine. Participate in departmental systems of supervision and peer review. Participate in the systems to ensure continuous personal professional development. Participate in early morning, late night, weekend, and bank holiday rota. To assist and cover for other staff members in other areas within the department.
