PRS are now in need of a maintenance Supervisor, to undertake planned preventive maintenance, reactive repairs to plant and equipment along with supporting the day-to-day operations of M&E services on a static, commercial site in Reading.
The role is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. The candidate must be flexible to join the call out team.
The role is 50% administrative tasks and 50% hands on engineering tasks.
Main Aim of Role:
- The delivery of Engineering services to GP with additional responsibilities for the client
- Development of an excellent relationship with your team, client and customers based on consistent high quality service delivery.
- Hands on and effective management of the Engineering team and sub contracted services.
- Deputise for Account manager when they are absent and manage relationship with the client
- Achieve and excel the KPI’s within the contract
- Manage and audit contract documentation and ensure compliance is achieved
- Manage all events and emergency situations providing up to date effective communication
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Make sure the plant tours are issued daily to the client
- Record and advise Account Manager and client
- Liaise with GP and management teams, contractors and tenants, to assist in the smooth running of the business.
- To liaise with the GP team on a regular basis to ensure a proactive support to Facilities requirements.
- To manage, carry out and oversee all works, reactive and PPM tasks and to carry out monthly auditing to ensure that all works carried out are being completed to the correct standards and within the agreed timescales.
- To assist in the day to day running of the Engineering team, liaising with the Account Administrator to achieve the most efficient and effective running of the buildings, allocating resources where necessary.
- To manage all breakdowns, reactive and PPM works as required using technical skills in resolving all problems.
- To be responsible for directing (and regular auditing) of all PPM, breakdown works and fabric works carried out by the team and there sub-contractors.
- Mentor and Motivate the engineering team and ensure that a monthly 1-2-1 is completed with the team
- To manage and monitor staff start / finish times and to take effective action with any staff who do not conform to the specified requirements.
- To ensure adequate staff support requirements are provided in the event of holiday / sickness coverage.
- Complete quotations and reports as dictated by the client and the demands of site, ensuring that they are delivered on time and compliant with the terms of contract
- To regularly review the skills of the staff within your team to ensure that business specific training is planned and implemented on a regular basis.
- Carry out annual staff appraisals
- To be fully conversant with the Permit to work duties and to assist in the operation of the PTW system.
- To assist the Administrator in managing all sub contractors visits.
- To ensure all Contracted Personnel adopt that acceptable standards of dress and PPE.
- Respond to emergency situations in accordance with the GP emergency procedures.
- To encourage a pro-active/supportive attitude in regards of sustainability and energy saving amongst FM team and to lead by example.
- Set an example to your team by your leadership, standards and direction.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications
- Formal Trade Apprenticeship
- Be able to communicate both written and orally.
- Management or Supervisor experience or qualification
Experience
- Appropriate technical skills
- Demonstrate a knowledge of statutory health and safety requirements.
- Demonstrate a willingness to comply with health and safety management system.
- Skills
- Computer literacy – excel, word, etc.
- Familiarity and knowledge of site engineering systems and fabric requirements
- Strong man management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision.
