Job description
The Role
- To carry out installation, maintenance, fault finding and repairs on a range of systems.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and planned maintenance work
- To identify root causes wherever possible and to communicate with relevant personnel.
- Responsible for correct wiring of high value equipment and machinery.
- Use of PLC system control and manipulation of programme, including fault finding and enquiries and follow up. Commissioning and reading drawings.
- Report danger of faulty equipment and installations through formal record system
- Uphold safe working practices at all times observing instructions, procedures, permits, safety systems, lock offs and other protocols applicable.
- To record activities as directed
- Must be willing to undertake forklift truck and overhead crane training.
- Assist in the development of new starters and trainees.
The Person:
- Good maintenance knowledge and fault-finding skills
- Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and ability to conform to stringent procedures and work within strict health and safety practices
- Accuracy and competency required in making connections, attaching leads, circuit testing
- Reliable and flexible attitude to work
- Excellent communication skills, able to build relationships with colleagues, suppliers & contractors
- Knowledge of diecasting, CNC machines and robots would be advantageous
