Job Duties:

The Pupil Referral Unit Teaching Assistant will assist in the educational and behavioural support of students within the unit. This includes implementing individual education plans, providing one-to-one support, and assisting the class teacher in delivering lessons. The Teaching Assistant will also help manage challenging behaviour and create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must have a minimum of GCSE qualifications. Experience working with students with PMLD and SEMH is preferred.

Education:

A GCSE qualification is required for this role.

Experience:

Prior experience working in a similar educational setting is desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

Applicants should have knowledge of PMLD and SEMH, as well as strong de-escalation skills. Confidence, excellent communication, and patience are essential for success in this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional qualifications in education or special educational needs would be advantageous.

Working Conditions:

This role is based in a Pupil Referral Unit in Swansea. The Teaching Assistant will work full-time hours on a temporary basis, supporting students with a range of educational and behavioural needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
