Job description

Sunshine Nursery, is a small private day nursery and pre-school situated in a large detached house 5 minutes walk from Southampton common.

At Sunshine we ensure all child embark on adventures in a loving, safe and stimulating setting learning about their world in a warm and welcoming way.

Responsibilities:
- Create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans for young children
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through engaging activities
- Observe and assess children's progress and communicate with parents or guardians
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to create a cohesive learning environment
- Maintain a clean and organized environment

Qualifications:
- Minimum level 3 childcare qualification - specific to Early Years
- Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting (minimum of 2 years)
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Skills:
- Enthusiasm and a genuine passion for care of our children
- Patience and understanding when working with young children
- Creativity in designing engaging and age-appropriate activities
- Strong organizational skills to manage materials and resources
- Ability to adapt strategies to meet the individual needs of each child
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues

Job Type: Part-time - 30 hours

Salary: From £11.44 per hour
