Job description

Our family run client based in Bishops Cleeve, who have been providing their services for over 100 years, are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join their close-knit and hardworking team on a permanent basis.

 

They are looking for an enthusiastic individual who enjoys every aspect of working within accounts, alongside being part of a small office environment. To be considered for this role you will have experience of working within a similar position, understand the importance of achieving deadlines and be confident in dealing with all types of queries. There is always the opportunity to take on more responsibilities should you wish to do so.

 

Responsibilities:

-Oversee purchase ledger clerk: processing purchase invoices, organising, authorising, and running mid-month and month-end payment runs, reconciling supplier statements and liaising with suppliers

-Oversee sales ledger clerk: daily checking and uploading all sales invoices on sales systems

-Create sales invoices, run weekly debtors’ reports and chase overdue payments

-Daily monitoring of banking accounts

-Review and maintain bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts and credit card payments

-Ensure timely payments to main suppliers whilst managing cashflow and liaising with the Director to schedule accordingly

-Complete and submit quarterly VAT returns and monthly PAYE payments

-Production of monthly Management Accounts for review by management, including asset register, depreciation, profit and loss on sales and balance sheet reconciliations

-Oversee processing of weekly Payroll, maintaining company pension scheme, holiday, and sick leave for all employees

-General administration duties as required

 

Candidate attributes:

-AAT / ACCA / CIMA qualification or qualified by experience to this level

-Attention to detail with excellent organisation skills

-Ability to get stuck in and work well as a team

-Keen attitude with the desire to take on more responsibilities as required

-Excellent communication skills with good telephone manner

 

Hours: Monday – Friday, flexible working hours to suit you between the hours of 7:30am – 5pm  

 

Salary: Up to £30k per annum pro rata however this is negotiable depending on experience, therefore, if you have the relevant skillset please submit your CV along with your salary expectations + free onsite parking
