Job description

ADT Wirral Ltd are recruiting reliable and caring personnel to take on a dual role in the provision of transport for children or vulnerable adults, some with complex needs, to school or day centres daily.

The dual role is Driver/Passenger Assistant with the expectation that successful applicants move between roles as required. Term Time Role. The work is every weekday for both morning and afternoon runs (approx 2 hrs morning, 2 hrs afternoon). On average hours are between 12 and 20 hours per week (depending on runs, each are different).
Company supplied vehicles (not for personal use). Training given.

Responsibilities include:

Picking up passenger assistant and service users, driving them to allocated school/day centre.
Ensuring each passenger gets safely on board (using ramp, step).
Loading/unloading wheelchair/s, ensuring passengers strapped in securely. Ensuring safe transport of passengers whilst on vehicle, addressing special requirements/needs for service users.
Return journey, picking up passengers and taking them to home addresses.
Housing the vehicle at your home address, keeping vehicle clean and presentable
Informing ADT of any issues with the vehicle or incidents on board asap.
Maintaining confidentiality and privacy of passengers at all times.

Required:

- must have Wirral restricted taxi badge or be prepared to undergo training to obtain a Wirral restricted private hire badge
- full enhanced DBS (we will arrange this)
- preferably MIDAS trained (can be arranged)
- experience with driving large van-type vehicle
- experience with loading and unloading wheelchairs- would be an advantage but training can be given
- >25 years old, full clean driver’s license at least 5 years
- willingness to complete full driving medical
- to be able to commit to morning and afternoon runs
- would be advantageous to have space to park the bus at home or nearby
- kind and caring nature, previous care advantageous, confidentiality and patience a must.
